San Francisco and Pacific Coast Highway

We had a wonderful time in the beautiful city by the bay although the whole journey started a bit crazy due to the fact they lost our complete luggage. Fortunately it was delivered after 48 hours. In San Francisco we visited all the famous places like Twin Peaks, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Alcatraz Island and of course we rode the Cablecar.
To see the Golden Gate Bridge in person was so impressive - one of the moments you will definitely never forget. We went shopping around Union Square and SoMa and had a lot of fun in a giant Halloween store with all the crazy costumes and decorations.

Pictures show skyline from Alcatraz Island, SFFD- snapshot, Fisherman's Wharf sign, Golden Gate Bridge and overview from Twin-Peaks (click to enlarge)

Although San Francisco was just the start of our journey and there was so much more lying ahead I was really sad to leave. I hope I can come back someday.

From San Francisco we drove to San Jose and Santa Cruz until we reached Monterey where we took the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) to the south. The landscape at the pacific coast is gorgeous and it's interesting how it changes when you are going from noth to south. Los Angeles we're coming...
